We prioritize kindness, putting people first and never sacrificing integrity.

David Viscott

After consulting for a variety of clients since 2004, Stephanie Ludlum officially formed Fine Print Consulting in 2015—incorporating her love for strategy and creativity into one entity to make a difference for clients.

Stephanie’s love of marketing and communications stems back to her childhood days of tape recording a homemade radio drama along with her sister and best friend—The William Fauntleroy Family Adventure Series, complete with advertisements from “sponsors.”

After earning a bachelor’s in creative writing, she pursued two master’s degrees, which afforded her graduate assistantships in the fields of script writing, marketing, and project management. Her love of words and natural bent toward organization have guided her career as she has risen through the ranks at fast-growing, innovative corporations in both the public and private sectors.

With a keen eye for detail, a breadth of business experience, and a knack for creativity, she leads a company committed to crafting customized business strategies and creative marketing and communications that exceed clients’ expectations.

Character is the governing element of life,
and is above genius.

FinePrintConsulting story

The backstory

The inspiration for “Fine Print” came from a book club in South Carolina of which Stephanie was a founding member. The women who formed the group dubbed themselves “The Ladies of Fine Print” to reflect their aspirations to read and discuss quality literature and also as a nod to their own backgrounds and interests—many of them holding advanced degrees in English and/or careers in education and communications.

In 2015, when Stephanie officially formed her company, she chose the name “Fine Print” because it whimsically communicates various levels of meaning: her commitment to provide excellent written materials, her strength as a detail-oriented creative, and her love of playing with words.

Our logo

Our icon is a stylized, calligraphic representation of an apple blossom, playing off our name, Fine Print, and symbolizing the potential of organizations to grow and multiply the fruit of their labors. The apple blossom has thicker lines on the left outside of the leaves, creating somewhat of a pinwheel effect that reflects the motion and forward momentum that is part of the creative process. The idea was inspired by a favorite proverb that exalts the value of well-crafted communications: “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver” (Proverbs 25:11 ESV).

Our brand

Our brand has excellence at its core. This is expressed in ample use of white space, a classic serif typeface paired with elegant use of a modern sans serif typeface, black and white photos, and a simple color palette with a touch of character in the red accent color.

Our branding and website were developed in collaboration with Art Director Per-Ole Tvarnø Lind.
